What an automated trading bot for Hyperliquid does, how its trading key works, what to check before you let one trade your account, and where 3AM fits.

What a Hyperliquid trading bot is

A Hyperliquid trading bot is software that trades Hyperliquid’s perpetual futures for you, by fixed rules, around the clock. It watches the market, opens a trade when its setup appears, places a stop, and closes the trade when its exit comes.

It doesn’t get tired or talk itself out of a trade. It also can’t see the future: a bot is only as good as its rules, and it can lose money.

Some bots ask you to deposit money with them. Others trade your own account through a key you approve, and your money stays where it is. On Hyperliquid, that second kind is built in.

How API wallets work

Hyperliquid lets your account approve an API wallet, also called an agent wallet: a separate key that signs trades for your account. Your own wallet approves it with one signature.

  • It can place and cancel orders on your account.
  • It can’t withdraw, and it can’t send your funds anywhere. Only your own wallet can.
  • You can see it and revoke it on Hyperliquid’s API page at any time, and an approval can carry an expiry date.

A trade-only key can still trade. If it ever leaked, nobody could withdraw your money with it, but they could trade badly. That’s why risk limits and an off switch matter as much as the key.

One rule holds for any bot: never hand over your wallet’s seed phrase or private key. A bot that trades through an API wallet never needs them.

What to check before you use any bot

Your funds stay in your account

There’s nothing to deposit. The bot trades your own Hyperliquid account, and the money stays there.

The key can’t withdraw

It should be an approved API wallet, never your seed phrase or private key, and you should be able to revoke it on Hyperliquid yourself.

Stops sit on the exchange

A stop kept inside the bot’s own software protects nothing if the bot or its server goes down. A stop order resting on Hyperliquid triggers either way.

Real trades are public

Look for real-money trades posted as they happen, wins and losses, not just a backtest chart. Trades on Hyperliquid are on-chain, so a real record can be checked.

Backtests are checked against real fills

A backtest assumes orders fill at the prices the rules wanted. Markets don’t always oblige: limit orders get skipped, market orders slip, and fees and funding add up. Ask how a backtest handled fills, and compare it with the real trades.

You set the risk

You should choose how much a trade can lose, every trade should be sized off your balance, and you should be able to switch the bot off at any time.

You can watch before you pay

A practice mode that follows your real account without placing orders shows what the bot would do before it trades your money.

How 3AM fits

3AM runs automated trading bots on your own Hyperliquid account. Against that checklist:

  • Your funds stay in your Hyperliquid account. We never hold them and can’t withdraw them.
  • One signature approves a trading key that can place trades but can never withdraw. It expires after 179 days, and you can revoke it any time. How keys work
  • You pick a bot, its coins and your risk per trade. Every trade is sized off your balance.
  • The bots run 24/7 on our servers and put the stop on the exchange the moment a trade opens.
  • Every real trade posts automatically to X and Telegram: entry, stop and exit, wins and losses.
  • Practice mode is free. Live trading is a monthly plan priced by account size, from $49 a month, with a 7-day free trial on your first plan. See the plans

Momentum

Waits for a strong breakout in a trending market, long or short. Puts the stop on the exchange the moment it enters, and protects the trade once it’s working. Lets the winners run until the trend turns. Most trades end small; the few that run pay for the rest.

Break Retest

Waits for ETH to break a key level, then for price to come back and test it. Every trade it books is a real fill on Hyperliquid. The stop and the target go on the exchange the moment it fills.

We built more than 40 bots and killed almost all of them after minute-by-minute replays against real fills. Two survived. They trade our own money, and they’re the two you can switch on.

Backtests, not promises

Questions

What is the best Hyperliquid trading bot?

The one you can check. Look for funds that stay in your own account, a key that can’t withdraw, stops that sit on the exchange and a public record of real trades, not just a backtest. Then judge it over many trades, wins and losses together: no bot wins every trade.

Can a Hyperliquid trading bot withdraw my funds?

Not through an API wallet. Hyperliquid lets an approved API wallet place and cancel orders, but it can’t withdraw or send funds; only your own wallet can. A bot that asks for your seed phrase, your private key or a deposit is asking for far more than it needs to trade.

Is 3AM non-custodial?

Yes. Your funds stay in your own Hyperliquid account and 3AM never holds them. The key you approve can trade but can never withdraw, and you can revoke it on Hyperliquid’s API page at any time.

How much does 3AM cost?

Practice mode is free. Live trading is a monthly plan priced by account size: $49 a month for accounts up to $5k, $149 up to $25k, $299 up to $50k, $599 up to $100k and $1,499 for any size. Your first plan starts with a 7-day free trial. See the plans.

Which coins do the bots trade?

Momentum trades ETH and BTC, and you can add DOGE, PEPE and BONK. Break Retest trades ETH.

Do I need to keep my computer on?

No. The bots run 24/7 on 3AM’s servers, not in your browser. Closing the tab or signing out doesn’t stop them; switching a bot off does.

Where can I see 3AM’s real trades?

Every real trade posts automatically to X (@3am_trades) and Telegram: entry, stop and exit, wins and losses. The History tab on the pad lists them too.

What does R mean?

R is the amount risked on a trade. A trade that loses what it risked is −1R; one that makes three times its risk is +3R. Counting in R compares trades fairly at any account size.

Can I lose money?

Yes. The bots trade perpetual futures with leverage, and losses are yours. Price can gap past a stop, and orders can fill at worse prices than planned. Backtests and past trades don’t promise future results.

Who can’t use 3AM?

People in the United States, the United Kingdom or Ontario, anyone where it’s against the law, and anyone on a sanctions list. Hyperliquid’s own terms apply to your account too. See the risks and terms.

How do I stop a bot?

Switch it off on the Bots page. It stops taking new trades, and an open trade keeps its stop on Hyperliquid. You can also remove the trading key, or revoke it on Hyperliquid’s API page, at any time.

Try it without risking money

Connect a wallet on the pad and switch a bot on from the Bots page. It starts in practice mode and places no orders until you approve a trading key. Read the risks and terms first.
